Our First 1,000 Users: Wins, Misses, and Lessons Learned
We hit our first 1,000 users. Here’s what clicked, what flopped, and how it’s shaping the future of GoodRunss AI.
What We Got Right
1. Real-Time Activity Tracking Works Everywhere
Whether it was a basketball court, fitness room, tennis court, or a multipurpose gym, players and staff loved being able to see what was happening in real time. Empty spaces filled up faster. Crowded spaces got managed better.
2. Simplicity Translates Across Sports
The most popular features were universal:
Quick check-ins
Tap-to-signal you’re ready
Easy search by zip code or facility
No matter the activity, people want speed and clarity.
3. Word-of-Mouth Beats Marketing
Growth didn’t come from ads. It came from people showing up with friends, staff sharing with colleagues, and communities spreading the word. Energy at one court or gym spilled over into others.
What We Got Wrong
1. Overloading New Users
We tried to introduce every feature too quickly. The lesson: let people start simple and discover more at their own pace.
2. Assuming Every Facility Works the Same
Every space has its own rhythm. A city rec center runs differently from a college gym, and both are different from a local park. We learned the hard way that GoodRunss has to flex to the environment, not force a one-size-fits-all model. From this we developed a personalized dashboard equipped with your personal ai chat bot (GIA).
3. Slow Facility Feedback Loops
Some facilities wanted faster reports on usage and participation. By not delivering insights quickly enough, we missed chances to build stronger partnerships. Now, instant reporting is part of our roadmap.
What Facilities Taught Us
One of the biggest surprises was how much staff wanted GoodRunss.
Less Guesswork: Instead of walking around to check if spaces were busy, they could see live usage at a glance.
Fewer Complaints: Overcrowding and under use became easier to spot and address.
Better Programming: By seeing traffic patterns, facilities could schedule open gyms more effectively.
Revenue Opportunities: Empty hours were no longer invisible — they became slots that could be filled and monetized.
For many directors, the value wasn’t just “more people playing.” It was less stress for staff, smoother operations, and data they’d never had before.
Where We Go Next
Our first 1,000 users proved something big: GoodRunss isn’t just an app for one sport or one type of player. It’s a network that connects every facility, every activity, and every community.
The next stage isn’t just about scale. It’s about trust.
Trust from facilities that we’ll help manage space smarter.
Trust from players that they’ll find the right activity at the right time.
Trust from communities that this platform makes recreation more accessible and more fun.
We’re only at the beginning — but every check-in, every game, every open gym hour tracked shows us why we’re building.
GoodRunss exists to make play easier, for everyone.
